A good alternative to a blackberry

Pros Screen size and navigation
Cons It is a big phone!
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I really like this phone. It is easy and fun to use. While bulky it does save me from lugging a camera and mp3 player.
I purchased this phone back in November when I found out I would be traveling to India for business. The phone I had at the time was a Samsung flip phone and it was only a tri-band. If I wanted any hope of getting a signal I was told I needed a quad-band. Please note that I am not terribly techy and have no idea what a tri or quad-band is, but if you travel internationally you should get a quad-band. While at the Cingular store, I was looking at the Razor when I noticed that for the same price I could get the 8125 and let me tell you the 8125 has loads of features that many other phones and even blackberry's did not have at that time.

What I love about this phone:
A 1.3 mega pixel camera! As a mom for an energetic 4 year old, you just never know when you are going to need a camera. Plus at the time most other camera phones took very low quality pictures. I have actually ordered prints from pictures I have taken with this phone and they turned out very nice. At the time Blackberry did not offer a camera at all.

A huge screen! Here is the techno stuff on it: 2.8" TFT active matrix 16-bit (64K colors), 320 x 240 2.8" TFT active matrix...I have no idea what any of this means, but basically I think is trying to say that it has beautiful colors and a huge touch screen.

Love the touch screen! It comes with a stylus, but I only use that when playing Bubble Breaker (which by the way is highly addictive!) I normally just use my finger nail to navigate. I have tried Blackberry's and greatly prefer the touch screen interface.

Full slide out qwerty keyboard. I hated the keyboards on my previous phones. Due to that I rarely would text. Now I can text with the best them!

I can hear you now! I find the sound quality to be great. I have used just the phone, as well as the speaker phone and I have a Bluetooth headset which is what I use most often.

Bubble Breaker is so fun! I am seriously addicted to this game. High score is 1103 on a single pop! My 4 year even enjoys this game which is helpful when trying to keep him busy. Saved us when we were traveling and got stuck in an airport.

Music – I purchased the 1 gig mini SD card and store my mp3 collection on it. While traveling, it is so nice to have one less thing to keep track of. Note that you will need an adaptor for the earphone jack as it is not the same size as most mp3 players.

Microsoft office – I use Word on a daily basis. This is where I store notes from meetings, shopping lists, and other random things I need to remember.

Durable – I cannot tell you how many times I have dropped this phone. While it is scratched the screen is fine and it works perfectly…knock on wood!

Internet - I love surfing the web on this phone. I have used this feature at home, in the car, at work, at the fair, you name it! I rarely use WiFi as it drains the the battery too fast. I also have unlimited plan so no worries about additional charges.

Reception seems to be quite good. At least it is better than my previous phones. Not sure if that is because of the quad-band, but either way I can get connected and stay connect more often than with other phones.

What I am not so in love with:
Who says size doesn't matter? This phone is huge compared to other. Seriously 150 grams/5.29 ounces! Luckily I have a purse to lug this thing around in, so I just lock the keyboard and use my Bluetooth ear phone.

When using the keyboard for text messaging or email the send key if right above the "W" and "E" and if I am typing fast, which I seriously can on this big keyboard, I occasionally hit send by accident. My friends are getting used to this and know that the rest of the message will be to them shortly.

Can't find a case I like! All the cases I have seen so far do not allow you to slide out the keyboard. I use the keyboard a lot so I do not use a case at all. This is obvious if you see my phone, which I have dropped numerous times.

Lockups! Occasionally the phones software just locks up and I have to restart it to get it working again. I have even had to remove the battery once to restart it as it wouldn't even power off. I find that I need to restart about every month.
