Pro 6.5's, Legendary speakers

bydryphtyr Dec 4, 2008
1 Helpfuls 2 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Power, Power, Power, Clarity, Realism, did I mention power
Cons Don't forget the power.  I'd say 150WPC minimum or don't bother.
Recommended it? Yes

I purchased these new 4 years ago.  In the first system I had them in, they were running bi-amped & time aligned with active crossovers off a soundstream lil wonder amp.  They had phenominal mid-range clarity, but I always found the highs to be a little harsh.  The mid-bass was good, but not great,... Absolutely perfect imaging, accuracy, and clarity

byDBBurro Mar 7, 2004
6 Helpfuls 7 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Accuracy, handles complex material at unreal volumes, good staging, imaging, almost ruler...
Cons Cost, clean high power amp is a must. Air tight seal is a MUST.
Recommended it? Yes

I've had the 6.5 Pro's installed for a couple of months in my 03 Tundra. Have let them break in and have almost completed the dialing in of the system. As others have stated the installation of these is VERY important for the best results. A very solid baffle, with an almost air tight seal will... Read full review »

Pros Awesome sound, 3 way set up provides ideal imaging.
Cons Pricing might be considered a little bit steep, but are worth it
Recommended it? Yes

Great product, would recommend them to anyone without hesitation. I've been using these for 3 years now and they are running strong. I took home a Sound Quality award with these speakers in my car at my very first sound quality competition. I had the midrange and tweeters placed in the corners of... Read full review »

Pros Sound Quality, Sound Quality, Sound Quality.
Cons Price.
Recommended it? Yes

This is the second set of BA Pro's I have owned. I let the first set go with a vehicle when I sold it. (I will not make that mistake again.)
I wanted a set of speakers I could turn up loud enough to make your ears bleed. But I wanted the sound quality to sound pristine clear.
I searched... Read full review »

As a huge car audio enthusiast, it is hard not to fall right in love with this flagship 3 way Boston system. I'm going out on a limb enough to say that most anyone who experiences these speakers will certainly get very interested once you hear them. just looking at the drivers carefully will show... This review is for the Boston Acoustics Pros series 6.5.

In a nutshell, hearing this speaker will make you realize why its considered one of the best in the world and consistently makes to a great number of IASCA competitors. POssibly matched only by the MB Quart Q series or the lesser... Read full review »

Got Pro's??

Pros very clean, crisp and loud. Reproduces music exceptionally well.
Cons I Dont think there are any.
Recommended it? Yes

First off let me say that underpowering a speaker will not damage it, nor will over powering--to a certain extent that is. Distortion is what kills speakers, and of course the occasional dummy who decides to hook up a tweeter to a full range amp with no crossover...that'll do it every time!

Pros Excellent sound quality.
Cons Doesn't fit in all cars.

I love Boston Acoustics speakers. I have their speakers in my car, my girlfriend's car, and in my house. No matter which line of speakers you look at and compare them to similarly priced competitors they sound better and last longer. I use the RM-6's for my rear speakers (Pro-6.5's up front.) The... Pros Great sound
Cons Need amplification

After months of going around listening to speakers, these were definately the best value for money possible. I listened to sony, kenwood, panasonic, jbl, philips, clarion, jvc and these were by far the best. The reason why I enjoy these spilts so much is because with most splits as the volume gets... Pros Nice treble, solid bass
Cons none

I replaced my stock car speakers with a pair of Rally's last year after hearing them in a friends car. I've been quite pleased with them since then. The highs are clean, clear and bright with just a touch of sibilance, as I like them to be.

Because the woofers are 6 1/2" the bass response... Read full review »

These speakers continue to amaze me each time I listen to them. They have a great bass tone which fills my car with the thump I have always wanted without the big subwoofers I did not want. The highs are amazingly clear as is the mid-range. For the price they can't be beat in my opinion. They... Read full review »

Pros Color
Cons Everything Else!

These really aren't very good speakers at all. I wouldn't recommend you waste your money on these. I bought a pair for my car and they just suck! They are cool looking though. That's about the only plus.

The salesman did a great job of talking me into getting this product. He earned his... Read full review »

Boston Accoustics... quality?

Pros sound quality, price
Cons none

After working for this company for a few months I know what goes into making these speakers. The parts and labor put into them are nothing less than the best. This, obviously, produces speakers of a sound quality and affordibility that no one can match.

If you liked the previous versions... Read full review »

Pros built to last, killer sound
Cons high cost, proper imaging and equalization are a must

The first thing you notice about this speaker set is the military-issue cast-aluminum basket on the 6.5 woofer. One look at this baby and you know it's not going anywhere for a while. A quick glance at the box reveals power handling upwards of 450 watts RMS, and you know you've got a solid setup... Read full review »

Let me say one thing about Boston Acoustic speakers...They're Awesome!
