I have read these reviews and needed to give my 2 cents.

I bought my first Bose Wave Radio in 1997. It was strongly recommended by a friend of mine, but I thought the price was a bit steep.(Hint: Do not pay full retail, go to the Bose Outlets and pay substantially discounted price!) We loved it. So much so, that when our Yamaha receiver went out, the Bose substituted nicely. We love to hang out in the backyard in the summer sipping wine, watching the lighting bugs or just gardening on a sunny day. The sound it provides for these moments is great. It is also easy to cart around.

We liked the Bose so much, that we bought a second one in 1999 for our vacation home. The home has a loft area and the music carries beautifully through the rafters. We really love it.

One word of caution, the CD player does not take well to 18 month old throwing dirt in it. So, keep it above the child level. It is also easy to connect other components to the system if something (like the CD player) break down.
