*****DISCLAIMER*****
There is not a section to review just the WaveRadio, and although it has been months since myself and others have suggested a link, I really do not think epinions will add it anytime in the near future, so this review goes here due to similarity in products.

Well, I've seen all these reviews about the BOSE Wave Radio with the CD player, and let me tell you why I didn't buy it.

First off was the price factor. Yeah, the sound quality is unbelievable, yada yada, but paying that much money for a radio that is only capable of holding one CD at a time is ludicrous. For $150 less you could get the Wave Radio without the CD player and just attach some RCA cords into the back and hook it up to a 5 disc CD changer that you might already have, or take the route I did and just buy a fairly cheap 5 disc changer (the one I bought was a sale price of $69).

The whole stereo is easy to move around, and as I inferred earlier, has outlets in the back for audio and video wires. Thus it can be hooked up to your computer, VCR, TV, or other stereo system as easy as 1-2-3.

Where to Buy

I ordered my particular WaveRadio over the internet from the Bose website. The site was pretty informative and seemed to answer almost every question I had, just reading the descriptions and specs of the products. The only way to buy a Bose WaveRadio is direct from Bose, either through their website, catalog, or a Bose store (there's a store in the outlet mall near my home, but the prices aren't any cheaper, so don't get your hopes up).

After I hit submit on the order form with all my credit card info, etc (yes, it's a secure transmission), I figured the radio would take a week at the least to be delivered, but I was pleasantly surprised. 3 days later I got a call from the package stop at the Academy saying I had a package....lo and behold it was my WaveRadio, in a nice Bose box, not too heavy, packed in styrofoam. Owner's manual was right on top when I opened it up.

A Few Features

Now, to the Wave Radio itself, I have been very happy with it. The interface is fairly user-friendly, and in no time flat I had my favorite radio stations programmed into the buttons. It receives pretty well; I haven't had too much of a problem with static and whatnot, but you get that with any radio.

One thing I have noticed, is that if you lose power (the radio is plugged into an outlet), you'll have to reset all the buttons for radio stations, and reset th clock as well. This can get annoying if it happens frequently. There might be a place to put a 9 V battery to save settings should pwer be lost, but I haven't been able to find it yet, and frankly, it's really not that high on my list of priorities.

RCA outlets located on the back of the radio are very nice. They are easy to access and plug into any auxillary (such as a disc changer), provided, of course, you have an RCA cord. The outlets are even color coded for ease of use.

The Sound

Finally, what BOSE is known for, the sound quality. For as small as this radio is, it sure can get loud in a hurry, without loss of sound quality. I have never had a problem with feedback and distortion when I turn the volume up loud. The CD changer I have interfaces well with the radio when I want to listen to CDs, as well.

At the Bose store in the outlet mall they have a WaveRadio taken apart for demonstration, and those little speakers are pretty impressive. Listening to them without the Bose technology and then with makes a world of difference. I'd buy everything Bose if it wasn't so expensive...

Overall, I am very happy with my BOSE Wave Radio, just don't buy the one that comes with the CD player. The star rating I give is on the basis of sound quality and ease of use, which is common to both the WaveRadio and the WaveRadioCD.
