Too fragile and bad company support
Pros
Better than foam ear plugs, but only "cover" the noise when you're playing music
Cons
Inferior product, frames crack and break, and support is inadequate
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this product. Nice looking "package" but extremely inferior
I am an airline pilot and felt that the $300 investment would be worth it if they helped save my hearing. After more than a year of use, and having to return them twice I would not recommend them to anyone. I don't think I've tried to take better care of any item I've purchased. If not in use they are always in their carrying case and only come out for a flight. The first pair's frame cracked within a few weeks. When I returned them I was told that the company was aware of the problem and was working on it. The second pair stayed intact for about 2 months...I was aware of the potential problem and did everything I could to protect them from breaking, but the second pair cracked. I returned them and was given a pair that had a newer, stronger frame...that's what I was told. This pair started to crack in a number of places, and when I took them back the Manager said that I would have to send them back to the company if I wanted them replaced. Even though they are not the best "noise cancelling" they are better than ear-plugs, so I've taken to glue, tape, etc. trying to hold them together. As a pilot I've had a set of David Clarks for more than 15 years and have never had a problem with the frame....one would expect that Bose would care more about their reputation than to sell such an inferior product.
