The Bottom Line:
Worth the money if you fly a lot.
These would be pretty amazing for frequent flyers in coach. (Business class and first class on AA get use of these for free now...some other airlines will follow suit I am sure.)
Slide them on and flick the switch and this subtle hissing, white noise fills your head and cancels out everything around you. You can leave it like that and sleep (if you can sleep with headphones on your head) or connect to an audio source and get very, very good sound indeed.
Never on sale (it's a Bose tradition) these are pretty effective devices; the technology is also used in pilot headsets to drown out cockpit noise.
The battery pack is a little cumbersome but not awful. I got 24 hours out of 4 AA batteries, your mileage may vary. Rechargeables also work.
