The Bottom Line:
If you have $300 dollars for headphones, go for it.
I do not want to go into detail description of this product because the other reviewers have done that. I just want to comment on my experience with Bose customer service. I bought these in February of this year and after 3 months of use the indicator lamp stopped working. The noise reduction was still working but without the indicator lamp it is easy to forget to turn off the headphones. I called Bose Technical support and they requested that I sent the package to them for them for repair. In less than 2 weeks I received brand new (not refurbished) headphones from Bose. I am more than impressed with Bose customer service. I just wish the warranty on these is more than 1 year.
If you have $300 to spend I would recommend buying Quiet Comfort 2. I bought them from Crutchfield for $300 with free shipping and 30 days return guarantee. Since I live in apartment complex I use these when I watch movies late at night that way I will not wake up neighbors. In addition these headphones are life savers for commuters. If you are using subway these headphones will substantially reduce background noise. My daily commute inside and outside of Boston is more pleasant with pair of Quiet Comfort 2.
So for me this was money well spent. I just want to add, these headphones reduce not eliminate noise. Do not expect a total perfection. You will hear some outside noise but it will be more like very distant background noise.
