Bose QCs Rock

Pros Does exactly what it says
Cons none
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  They are the best noise canceling headphones on the market.
I usually look at Epinions before I buy. I'm so glad I didn't take the majority opinion and got the Bose QC headphones. I did read a lot of reviews and critiques of the QCs, and every single one of them said the same thing -- compared to the other brands of noise canceling headphones the Bose are outstanding. One reviewer threw away her Sony?s after trying the Bose on a flight.

First about me. I travel a lot; 64,000 miles so far this year on 1 airline alone. I do a lot of day trips where I hit the ground running and don't stop. But every time I flew I would land feeling worn out, my ears ringing, my concentration shot.

I tried earplugs on plane but let's face it, you can't hear anything then, or you have to crank up the airline headphones way too loud. Then I got the Bose QCs. They have changed my world. Every time I fly I use them. And every time -- half way through the flight -- I think "Jees, these things aren't working!" Then I take them off and I am literally startled by how much noise they cancel out.

Now quickly I want to say what they do and what the don't. They DO cancel out the low noise that you hear when flying. They also let you plug into an MP3 player (Or CD for the old-fashioned) or the plane audio jack. They don't block out higher pitched noises or voices so you can still hear what's being said around you -- this is a key safety point. When the captain comes on the PA and says something you can her him.

You may also want to know chances are good your pilot is wearing the same brand of noise canceling headphones. And they use them in Army tanks as well.

You could go out and spend the same $$ on the Etymotic ER4P's, but then you don't get noise canceling, only some earplugs with tiny speakers in them. Or you could buy a different brand of noise canceling headphones -- but why do pilots (and tank drivers) use Bose? Because they work better than anything else on the market.

So, if you're reading these writeups and are considering buying the Bose QCs, BUY THEM RIGHT NOW. Then if you decide noise canceling isn't for you return them in 30 days no questions asked. Do it; you will never fly without them again. If the $$ is holding you back try the Bose payment plan. But TRY THEM before you make up your mind, don't go by what the negative reviews say. I love mine and would by them again.
