When it comes to Bose, I don't think there's any other speaker system that can beat it. I was a put off by the $400 price tag of the Bose Sound Dock Portable system and initially bought a cheaper brand and ended up bringing it back to the store the very next morning!
You can turn this up as loud as you can stand it, and the sound is still clear with no distortion. I love my Ipod and when I'm quilting, which is about half the time, I'm either listening to audio books or to music.
I'm glad I got the portable system because I often take it from one end of the house to the other. The Bose Sound Dock portable system charges your Ipod while it's playing your selection, and the remote control is a nice touch. I like how you can instantly pause and resume the Ipod with the remote, in case the phone should ring or someone needs to talk to you.
I bought it at Sams Club and it came with an extra battery and a carrying case, which is extra at all other sites and stores.
I don't know how I managed to live this long without a Bose Sound Dock, but I'm so glad I have one now. It will be the last speaker I'll ever have to buy. It's expensive, but if you want the best, this is it!
