Bose 901 Series VI Main / Stereo Speaker

Let me start off by saying that I do NOT own these speakers nor ever will. Granted , in the early 70's the 901s were a fairly nice speaker. Times have changed and the 901s haven't. You have to question a speaker who depends upon exacting room placement and their proprietary equalizer. For the money paid, one could get a pair of Infinity Interlude 50s that would make the 901s sound like they were an AM radio. The bass is muddy and undefined, treble almost non existent. There is however a LARGE mid range swell that makes the listen believe they are hearing a built in television speaker. The issue of direct / reflecting to me is ludicrous. I really don't want to listen to the room I want to listen to high quality drivers accurately reproducing what is being supplied to them. The 901 drivers are neither quality or accurate.
