The Bottom Line:
The Bose 3-2-1 system was a great purchase. It has great sound quality as well as producing a crystal clear picture. We have enjoyed our home theater system.
We have purchased the Bose 3-2-1 home theater system about nine months ago. It is incredible. The sound it produces is clear and crisp, not to mention the remarkable quality shown on our high definition television. It is so real it is like going to the movies. It is unbelievable that such a sound can come from two small speakers.
The Bose 3-2-1 system comes with two speakers, the Gemstone, a subwoofer, the Acoustimass module, the media center, remote control, power cord, stereo, video, speaker, and Acoustimass module cables for easy set up. An easy to read instruction book allows for easy set up, and gives recommendations of possible locations for placements of the speakers for optimal sound. Setup includes connecting the Acoustimass module to the media center and the power outlet. A Y cable labeled left and right, is used to connect the Acoustimass module to the speakers. Place each end in appropriate speaker. Last, connect TV cable to the proper audio port, depending upon application e.g. satellite, DVR, VCR etc, it may be different. Flip the switch and we are ready to be entertained.
No more fumbling with several remote controls, this can handle it all. It is a universal remote. It offers numbers to change the channel, tunes the FM or AM radio to the next frequency, as well as operating the media center. Something to mention, it even came with batteries which many do not.
The Bose system allows up to 200 hours of digital music storage from CD's. We have yet to do this, mainly because our IPOD's contains all of our music. It also has AM/FM tuner, but we do not use it because we don't get very good reception in our house, with any stereo, not just this one.
My parents have the 5.1 channel home theater speaker system; they went to the trouble of hiring an electrician to mount all the speakers. We didn't want to go to that extreme, so the Bose 3-2-1 system was perfect for us. It sounds just as good, but with fewer speakers. I am very impressed
We paid $999.00 plus tax, and have enjoyed every bit of it. It was well worth the money.
