Overrated
Bose does a nice job with advertising and hype, so to the uninitiated, they are producing something of "audiophile quality". Believe me people, they most certainly are not. Like most of their products, this is overrated. The surround sound quality is fair, although admittedly, its difficult to... Read full review »
buy something else
We have this system and wish we didn't! For as much as it costs - it should last FOREVER - but in less than 6 months, we have exchanged one (the first one- within first week after purchase) and now need to return unit #2. The first one ate a CD and wouldn't eject it, wouldn't do anything else,... Read full review »
Great for home theatre, mediocre for music
Very nice system for home theatre IF you want a small system and music quality is secondary to home theatre quality.
We bought both this system and the Denon S-301. The Denon S-301 was better musically, had better features, and had a decent upconverting DVD player. This Bose was better...

Note that Bose has a new version out
Wow, no reviews in over a year.
Just a note that Bose came out with a new model, so check carefully which one you are buying.
We heard the Bose 321 (at Sam's Club, of all places), and was underwhelmed. It had good impact for movies, but sonicly it was not impressive.

Perfect Bedroom TV sound setup. Great sound. Good Service.
This was the perfect solution for my new bedroom LCD HD TV which had pitiful sound, but a great picture. I almost didn't buy the Bose 321 because of some poor reviews but it came with a 30 day return policy so I gave it a try. I'm glad I did. It makes an incredible difference and the stereo... Rich sound
I bought this to hook it up to my Plasma monitor and digital cable box.
The sound is just great. It has very small speakers that look very chic.
The progressive scan DVD produces great pictures. The box is plain looking and does not give you many options to play around. Some software hick...

Save the $1000
Maybe its me, but for $1000 i expect high tech output. My series one doesnt have component output which i just found out is needed for progressive scan. There is no clock, no labeling, and no memory for audio options. Bose has no upgrade program. I said screw it and bought a separate progressive... Read full review »
Mediocre sound at Top Shelf price
I hate to admit I spent $1299 on this system. I should have been suspect when I read the disclaimer they place in each box. It explains that WE don't understand what true sound imagery is, that THEY have defined it for us and if we don't agree, we just haven't the ability to comprehend. BOSE seems... Read full review »

waste of money
bought this Bose yesterday, returning it today. What a waste of money. I had a Sony, which was 10 times the systems this is. It is very slow in loading a DVD, sounds like your in a tin box, has hardly any bass to it. The spreakers and whoopher have cables that limit you to where this thing goes... Read full review »
