Bose 321 GS

crummy reliability and sound

No
The Bottom Line:
Not worth the overpriced hype.
So, after working for several months to upgrade televisions to a new HD format, I walked into the store. There, at the front was the Bose 321 system. The were showing "Days of Thunder" and the sound was awesome on the floor.
Having had Bose speakers in the past, I used that as my sole decision to purchase the system.
Right away there were problems. One of the speakers did not work, but instead of taking the entire system back, I just got a replacement speaker.
I was a happy guy.
After getting everything hooked up, I cranked it up. It did not have nearly the quality sound in my home that was shown on the floor. Perhaps it is my reluctance to keep it under "50".
In the 2 years I have had my BOSE, I have come to miss the multiple CD/DVD carriage that I was replacing.
In addition, the sound quality is just not what I wanted.
About 12 months into the purchase (after the warranty expired), I started to have problems with the cables spontaneously jumping out of the jacks on the back of the system as I am having to reinsert them to keep it operating.
After 24 months, I have calluses on my fingers from reinserting and tightening. In a fit, I finally shot an email to Bose tech support. I will keep you updated to the status of my claim-and to see if they are a crummy company, or if they really stand behind their product.
If I had to do it over again, I would not purchase this system.
