Unobtrusive compact cleaning

Pros Fast spin, able to heat water, quiet, German built.
Cons Modest capacity, not available in colors, expensive, no gas dryer option.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  A good choice if you have limited space, want to put it under a counter top or have only one electrical outlet and want seperate washer and dryer.
My WAS24460UC was installed just over a week ago so I can't speak to durability yet.  I previously owned a full size LG front loading washer and matching dryer.

This washer pretty much must be paired with one of the two matching dryers Bosch sells.  This is because the washer actually uses 208V power with a plug that is not commonly seen in the US and plugs into either the conventional vented electric dryer or the special condensation dryer.  Even if you put a new cord on the washer, you are unlikely to have two 208V power outlets next to each other.  See my review of the WTV76100US also on this site.

Compared to my old LG front loader, the Bosch holds a little less laundry but takes up less space and would be a good choice to place under a countrertop for a built in look.  It is more accurate at predicting cycle times which, in typical front load fashion, are considerably longer than a top loading conventional washer.  I use the extra rinse option on the cotton cycle and most of my cycles finish very close to the 73 minute time indicated on the display.  The 1200 RPM spin is impressive and, surprisingly, virtually inaudible in my loft when I close the door to the room the washer is in.

Modifying cycle options such as temperature and spin speed is simple.  The optional stacking kit accessory with pull out drawer looks really great in photos but now that I have it I don't see the drawer adding much value to the setup and it added about 70 dollars to the cost of the stacking kit.

The energy specifications on the washer are top notch and qualified for the maximum energy efficient appliance tax credit possible in my state as well as the Oregon Energy Trust's qualifying rebate incentive list.  Most other models I considered weren't on both lists.

Overall I am pleased with my purchase because the washer works great and I plan to later place it under my bathroom counter which would be more difficult with a 27" washer and dryer.
