The Bottom Line:
Very nice dryer. Eco friendly, quiet, leaves clothes feeling and smelling fresh. Very happy with purchase.
I just bought this as a set to the Bosch WAS24460UC Washer. The dryer is actually very nice and I have a more favorable Epinion of it than I do the washer.
I read a couple of comments on here about the dryer and the one that stands out was 'dryer doesn't get hot'. Assuming that the dryer cord is connected properly, (mine came with the 240 cord attached) it sounds like it is working normally. I kept feeling the glass on mine for the first load and thought it was taking a long time to feel hot. But I remember reading about Bosch and the dryer and the way it uses energy. The claim to fame for this dryer is that it uses low heat and high air flow to dry clothes, thus saving energy.
The glass did warm up after a few minutes and the clothes did dry in about the normal length of time, if not a skosh linger. Nothing to lose hair over. Since the machine has a sensor to determine moisture content, it shuts the heat off a little bit before completely done and coasts along on the last bit of heat to finish off the drying. When you take your clothes out, they are completely cool. They alomost feel damp, but they are not. The clothes actually feel softer and the smell really fresh at this cool temp. They don't have that baked feel that a lot of dryers leave your clothes. (And I'm not a high heat fan either)
The dryer is decently quiet and simple to operate. I do wish it had the same display as the washer. I feel like I have a mismatched set. I don't know why Bosh only sells the condenser dryer in the matching model and not the vented dryer.
As for dislikes on the dryer, I have four:
1) No end of cycle buzzer. Which I completely don't understand at all.
2) There is no Air Dry setting. For a company that is supposed to be so 'green', I'm suprised. I hang most of my laundry on the line. I do like to put some of the clothes in the dryer on Air Dry for about 5 mins to fluff them up and then they aren't so crisp from the line dry. So, that was a disappointment. I swear I read in the product description that it did have and Air Dry setting, but I must have misread it.
3) No delay start. It's so nice to put a load in before you go to bed, and put a load in the washer as well and either have them be ready when you wake up or ready when you get home. That will be missed.
4) No display screen to match washer's.
Overall, I'm satisfied with the dryer and would buy it again. Very nice dryer.
