Bosch Axxis WTV76100 Electric Dryer

Bosch's Axxis Series deliver big on all counts. With a footprint at just under 5 square feet the results derived from the Bosch WTV76100 rival those from larger more well known offerings. Equipped with a number of drying programs suitable for most consumer demands the WTV76100 dries a load in less than 60 minutes which is extraordinarily competitive with many dryers on the market. If you have a companion Axxis Washer, you already know that their fast spin cycle delivers an almost dehydrated piece of laundry to the drying process curtailing cycle times dramatically. Timed cycles on the WTV76100 allow for drying times up to 40 minutes. This is the cycle you could use for touching up hand washed pieces. It's noteworthy that large loads always come out dry in this machine. Programmed cycles have a moisture sensor override that stops the machine before the cycle ends if the programmed dryness occurs beforehand which is a timely energy saving feature.

The Regular/Cotton cycle offers various states of dryness including damp dry, which is especially useful when ironing linens. Permanent Press also gives you similar drying cycles. All the basic features you would expect are here. Bosch cycles make sense and are somewhat basic, which is a refreshing break from the "Transformers" technology I see on all lot of machines.

Care and feeding the WTV76100 involves routine cleaning of the synthetic front mounted filter. Washing the delicate looking filter is essential, especially when using dryer sheets as they leave a thin film that can restrict air flow and overheat and damage electronics. In addition moisture sensors should also be cleared from any film accumulation from those sheets as well.

Bosch backs up their dryer with a limited Two Year warranty with a Two year limited warranty on electronics and motor. This is perhaps the one sore spot I have with Bosch. As an incentive to buy their product, they initially came into the states offering a five year warranty which w set them apart from the competition and would continue to deliver market share if they offered it on their current product line.

The WTV76100 features a stainless steel drum that they claim is snag-proof, though I see more value in the heat conductance of that material in the drying process. I do like that the WTV76100 has the capability to tumble clothes by reversing tumbling direction, keeping clothes loser and more adaptable to hanging right out of the dryer. I also like the fact that this is a stackable machine which can make a second floor laundry a reality for many households.

The WTV76100 is a solid performer drying 3.5 cu feet of wash in short order. My only complaints are that perhaps it could be a little quieter considering all the great technology that goes into this dryer; it makes you wonder if they thought 67dBA is acceptable. Please know that it is on par with most dryers, but folks, the WTV76100 is far from an on par machine. Dollar for dollar, I have to say I like the Bosch machines over the other manufacturers you may see on any showroom floor. They are reliable, cost effective and save energy. I have owned Bosch for a few years now, and buy them commercially and have seen a trend of good service which encourages me on each purchase. So far, I have not been disappointed.
