Boppy Pillow

I have to admit, I purchased the Boppy Pillow because I hate the name of its main competitor, My Brest Friend. (Who could admit to using such a thing by name?) Other than that, its only recommendation was that it matched the upholstery of the rocker I planned to nurse in.

What comfort! What joy! What versatility!

I use the boppy to nurse my 7 week old son. It's soft yet firm, it's comfortable, and it holds him at just the right height so that my arms don't get tired. Especially for those middle of the night feedings, it makes nursing much easier.

We use it for a pillow for the baby. When I lay him down to sleep on our bed, I arrange the pillow around him so that his head is propped up a little and the c-shaped sides curve around his arms. This makes him feel more cozy (I think!) and when he's older will help keep him from rolling off the bed, or onto his stomach, while sleeping.

I've just begun to put the baby in the center of the pillow when he's awake, to help him sit up more. He seems to love his new view of the world.

And finally, I leave the pillow on my nursing rocker as back support when I'm sitting down to read. I discovered accidentally how comfortable it is!

I think this is a great all around pillow and only wish I'd had one for my first child.
