Boppy Bare Naked Pillow

Despite its cutesy name, the Boppy is a very simple, very practical must-have item for moms with infants. Its horseshoe shape is meant to wrap around the mother to aid in propping the baby up during breastfeeding. It provides a more comfortable position for moms as they feed their child. For new moms especially, they might be surprised that breastfeeding does take some work and the Boppy helps aid moms as they learn the ropes of breastfeeding. In my personal experience, I found that it did alleviate some of the weight of the infant, but the angle was still not perfect for breastfeeding. I often added a pillow on the side I was breastfeeding from to help with the angle, which made latching easier for me and my son.

The Boppy has uses beyond breastfeeding that bottle-feeding moms may want to consider. It is perfect for laying a baby on, either on his back to prop him up and talk to him, or on his belly to give him the all-important "tummy time." When I started giving my son a bottle, he was able to lay on the Boppy and hold his own bottle. My husband even used it as a pillow on the airplane!
