I love Joyce, but ...
Pros
Beautiful bible, nicely bound, nice ribbon marker
Cons
Too few study notes because I expected way more of them.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I feel this is more of a personal choice issue. I myself, didn't care for the Amplified version and would have liked to have seen more study notes in it.
I absolutely love Joyce Meyer and have never until buying this bible, been disappointed in any of her books or tapes and CD's.
Now, I say I was disappointed - it wasn't in Joyce herself but in the fact that I had expected more study notes than were included in this bible.
Joyce has a way with wording and she has helped me so much in my walk with Christ. I was so excited when I ordered the bible and in fact, I paid for expedited shipping so I could get it faster.
It it a nicely bound bible [I got the leather edition] but after just a few minutes of leafing through it, I realized that it was most likely not a bible I would pick up as often as my other ones I have.
The Amplified version, while helpful to many people is just too ... wordy I guess is how I'd describe it.
Not that it is a bad thing but it just wasn't for me to have the bible text and then definitions included in parenthesis.
This bible does not have a concordance and very few reference verses as well which my other bible has.
I can't say that this bible is not a good product but just know that it isn't the one for me; I would have loved to see many more study notes in it than were there and I think that would have made a world of difference.
