Required reading for anyone staying in China

The book is a diary of an American Peace Corp volunteer's 2 year stay in a town on the Yangtze River.
The book details his interactions with his Chinese students as well as his daily life in a town with almost no foreigners.
There are lost of interesting situations described in the book.
I read this book after I'd been in China for 3 years and I wish I could have read it earlier, I think that anyone coming to China for work or studies etc. so read this book as it will save them a lot of embarrassing situations and it will make their life in China so much easier as many of the annoying things in China (what foreigners consider annoying) are described in the book and explained why things are the way they are.
