Pros For one who likes drama, suspense, comedy, and tragedy, then this ones best for you.
Cons For the kind who doesn't like a tragedy ending then here's a warning all ready.
Recommended it? Yes

Of what I have read about the book "Hamlet" by William Shakespeare, I have found it very endearing and thrilling. It has that genre of suspense and a bit of humor that will swing your mood into a shock. And therefore, I recommend this novel second to "Romeo and Juliet", obviously. Read full review »

Pros Wonderful writing, deep meaningful musings, good characters, interesting storyline,...
Cons Hamlet's indecisive whiney ways, old language is difficult in spots
Recommended it? Yes

Hamlet, one the most renowned Shakespearean tragedies, bane of high school students everywhere, and delight of ardent bibliophiles, follows Shakespeare’s usual tragic formula. There are ample opportunities for betrayal, miscommunication, rumination, chaotic love affairs, and loads of flowery Old... Read full review »

This was my year for Hamlet. Through the course of the past 12 months, I've seen four different productions of Hamlet, some of them more than once. Each production had its own interpretations, underscoring what very rich text this best of all Shakespearean tragedies is.

It began last fall... Read full review »

Shakespeare's never done it for me. I do very much appreciate the displayed talent, particularly so with his sonnets, but the whole enjoyment factor never really materialized. Despite a somewhat limited exposure to Shakespeare's plays, Hamlet has always stood out as one of the more satisfying ones... Read full review »

Pros A grabbing story filled with action and thought.
Cons Reading too quickly might miss many subtle points.

The line that exists between good and evil is easily blurred and Shakespeare's Hamlet exploits the ambiguity of the distinction for dramatic flavor. A close reading of the play will expose the villains as heroes and vice versa. As soon as the reader believes the true nature of a character has been... Read full review »

"...I am punished with sore distraction. What I have done... I here proclaim was madness" (V, ii, 140). This line, spoken by Hamlet, the Prince of Denmark, is a self-admitted declaration of his troubled life. Many problems face Hamlet on the outside; however, he is just as troubled on the inside... Hamlet, written by William Shakespeare in 1600, is set in Denmark during the cowardly and underhanded reign of King Claudius. The play has triggered a great deal of debate over the years by critics and readers alike. Is Hamlet really insane? Is this actually a quality piece of work? The play, at... Read full review »

If a man were to stop another on the street and ask him to quote from any of Shakespeare's plays, "To be, or not to be: that is the question" (Hamlet III.i.56) would almost certainly be the line to exit the stranger's mouth. The reasoning behind this lies with the social and cultural appeal of... Read full review »
