"Hamlet" Book Review
Of what I have read about the book "Hamlet" by William Shakespeare, I have found it very endearing and thrilling. It has that genre of suspense and a bit of humor that will swing your mood into a shock. And therefore, I recommend this novel second to "Romeo and Juliet", obviously. Read full review »

To be, or not to be . . . what was the question again?
Hamlet, one the most renowned Shakespearean tragedies, bane of high school students everywhere, and delight of ardent bibliophiles, follows Shakespeare’s usual tragic formula. There are ample opportunities for betrayal, miscommunication, rumination, chaotic love affairs, and loads of flowery Old... Read full review »

What a piece of work is Hamlet
This was my year for Hamlet. Through the course of the past 12 months, I've seen four different productions of Hamlet, some of them more than once. Each production had its own interpretations, underscoring what very rich text this best of all Shakespearean tragedies is.
It began last fall...

The Mousetrap
Shakespeare's never done it for me. I do very much appreciate the displayed talent, particularly so with his sonnets, but the whole enjoyment factor never really materialized. Despite a somewhat limited exposure to Shakespeare's plays, Hamlet has always stood out as one of the more satisfying ones... Read full review »
Another interpretation of a classic
The line that exists between good and evil is easily blurred and Shakespeare's Hamlet exploits the ambiguity of the distinction for dramatic flavor. A close reading of the play will expose the villains as heroes and vice versa. As soon as the reader believes the true nature of a character has been... Read full review »
To Read or not to Read?
My senior AP English class in high school has been reading Hamlet and discussing it for over a month. Most of the students seem to like but not love Hamlet.
Background- Hamlet fits the basic definition of the tragedy genre. The main character, Prince Hamlet, has a tragic flaw that he is...

A Classic Play About a Troubled Man
"...I am punished with sore distraction. What I have done... I here proclaim was madness" (V, ii, 140). This line, spoken by Hamlet, the Prince of Denmark, is a self-admitted declaration of his troubled life. Many problems face Hamlet on the outside; however, he is just as troubled on the inside... To read or not to read
Hamlet, written by William Shakespeare in 1600, is set in Denmark during the cowardly and underhanded reign of King Claudius. The play has triggered a great deal of debate over the years by critics and readers alike. Is Hamlet really insane? Is this actually a quality piece of work? The play, at... Read full review »
Hamlet : The Tragic Hero
If a man were to stop another on the street and ask him to quote from any of Shakespeare's plays, "To be, or not to be: that is the question" (Hamlet III.i.56) would almost certainly be the line to exit the stranger's mouth. The reasoning behind this lies with the social and cultural appeal of... Read full review »

To read or not to read? READ!
During my high school career I, as most students are, was forced to read many books, short stories, poems and plays that I would never have any intention of reading in my spare time. However most of these books, upon deeper study, show their true colors and, to even the most shallow of students,... Read full review »
Spiritual reassessment
The general idea of Hamlet is that Hamlet father [also named Hamlet] has been murdered by his uncle Claudius, who is now married to Hamlet?s mother, Gertrude, and is trying to kill off Hamlet as well, unfortunately Hamlet is trying to kill him too.
Sound like Melrose Place, well it?s...

A Story of Revenge
CAUTION! THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS!
HAMLET is without a doubt a classic play written by none other than William Shakespeare. In my review, I question Hamlet's indecisiveness. That is not to say HAMLET is a bad story, I am simply wondering why Hamlet didn't act on his revenge in a...
