Dogzilla Dumbbell: A Senses Work Out for My Dogs!
Pros
color, bounce, play, chew, can fill with treats, dogs love it!
Cons

smells like rubber to me!

Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
If you are looking for a versatile toy, don't underestimate the dumbbell!
I have three dogs of my own, and frequently a foster dog or two, so I'm always on the look out for fun new toys to keep my four pawed kiddos busy and content.
I saw the Booda Dogzilla Dumbbells hanging on an end cap, and the blue color and the word "vanilla" caught my eye.
Dogzilla toys claim to be infused with protein, which appeals to a dog's sense of taste. The vanilla scent appeals to the sense of smell, the color blue for sight, and the dumbbell shape is easy for your dog to grasp and carry. Another perk is the rubber attribute, which lends itself to the sense of bounce!
There is a cross cut hole at one end, in which biscuits and treats can be inserted into the toy. At the other end is a smaller round hole.
There is a wavy ridge that runs all around the narrow middle of the dumbbell. Each fat end of the dumbbell has a couple of raised ridges as well...sort of giving the appearance of tires.
The blue color reminds me of the ocean...a very clean and pretty blue.
SIZES:
The dumbbells come in three sizes:
Medium 5 inches
Large 6 inches
Extra Large 7 inches
PACKAGING:
The Booda Dogzilla Dumbbell came on a cardboard card and was wrapped in solid plastic. I had to use scissors to cut the end off the plastic, and then pull it open. It resembled the packaging that electronics or batteries come in.
OUR EXPERIENCE:
I smelled it right out of the package and now that it has been played with and chewed. All I smell is rubber! I do not smell anything remotely vanilla like!
Liberty (American Pit Bull Terrier) has not shown any interest in the dumbbell. We bought the large size. Lucy, the lab/pit mix, has made this her favorite toy! She carries this around the house, chews it, takes it outside, tosses it in the air to chase it, and plays games of "keep away" with Scooter. Scooter, our yorkie, loves it as well! I find it funny to see him running from Lucy with this huge dumbbell hanging out of his mouth...it's almost as big as him!
This is a great toy for fetch! You can put a few treats inside, throw it, and watch the dogs go crazy as it bounces erratically and they go after it! Lucy will fetch this forever! The kids get a kick out of throwing it as well, because they never know which way it will bounce once it hits the ground.
The bright blue color makes it easy to find in the yard. There is no fear of losing this toy in the grass! We are always able to locate it, and so are the dogs! (As if their sensitive noses aren't able to detect the protein and vanilla scents these toys are infused with!)
I have not had the need to wash this toy yet, so I can't vouch for the ease of cleaning yet. Once I get to that step in Booda Dumbbell ownership, I will update that here.
I can say, however, that two out of three Laracuente dogs find the Dogzilla Dumbbell an important part of daily play and stress relief!
