Bomberman Max Red Challenger for Game Boy Color

The second half of the Bomberman Max series, Red Challenger is much the same as Blue Champion in terms of the tasks at hand for the main character. However, instead of playing as Bomberman, you play as Max, who still is much the same as Bomberman except for looks. The graphics are also slightly different for each level compared to Blue.The task stays the same, plant bombs to destroy blocks and enemies in your way, as well as collecting Charabombs, creatures who act much the same as Pokemon where you raise the Charabombs and fight against other players. Certain Charabombs and levels are only available in Blue, so you must link with another Game Boy and the Blue Champion Edition to collect all of the Charabombs and complete the adventure.

Pros Classic Bomberman, two versions, not too easy, full-featured, lots of little extras
Cons Short game, requires a remote control(!), lacks real battle mode, sometimes frustrating

I bought Bomberman Max Blue (Champion) because I was looking for a good new Gameboy Color game to pass some time once school was out. I saw IGN.com gave it a "9" and it looked like a quality game. I bought it at Outpost.com for $29.95 and got it the next day. I finished it the day after that.

Pros suhWEET game, charabom extreme!, cool set up, good graphics, unlimited replay value
Cons charaboms can't reach level 99. they are each different in their limits.
Recommended it? Yes

For the first time in a while, Bomberman is back in all out 2-d, and loads of new features. But before we get to that, it's missing the best feature. Real Bomberman battles. I'll tell more later, though, now for that other stuff.
