The Bottom Line:
I am sorry to say this unit was returned to maker.
I think this would be a great way to brew/cook coffee, now I know why I try not to think too much! The carafe is very, very difficult to clean. The coffee grounds are a pain to deal with unless you just wash them down the drain (we compost). The brewed coffee is usually loaded with sludge and is not clear as with drip makers. It takes a lot of skill to get the correct grind for a decent cup of coffee; too fine equals lots of sludge and too coarse or from the can results in weak and watery flavor.
