Great coffee.
Pros
Tastes just like French Pressed coffee. Beautiful design.
Cons
You need to use a lot more ground coffee. Expensive to operate.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
This is the best coffee you can brew in an electric pot. Its expensive, but worth it, in my opinion.
The "Bodum Electric Santos 12 Cup Coffeemaker" makes a great cup of coffee. You have to follow the instructions though. It requires roughly twice as much ground coffee beans as a drip coffee maker. To make 6 cups of coffee, you must use 12 level tablespoons of ground coffee. I can make 6 cups of coffee in my drip coffee maker with 1/2 the ground coffee that this uses or less. The Bodum coffee maker does make a superior cup of coffee though. If you have ever tried French Pressed coffee you know what the difference is. It tastes exactly like French Pressed coffee. French Pressed coffee is the way that Starbucks recommends to brew regular coffee. I agree. You use the same grind as you would use in a drip coffee maker.
The coffee maker is easy to clean, if you have a big bottle brush. Just rinse the funnel and top cover under warm water. Pull out the permanent filter and rinse it. Rinse out the pot, and run your brush around in it a little. I wipe mine with a paper towel, inside and out, and i'm done.
It is very appealing to the eye as well. The cord will push into the base for storage. I will put the drip coffee maker away, and use the Bodum for now. It really is the best coffee you can make in an electric coffee maker.
