Bodum Chambord 1923 3-Cups Coffee Maker

We were in the market for a coffee maker and the VersaBrew seemed to fill the bill. It was attractive, had a water window, had a timer, had the sneak a cup feature. The unit worked well with two exceptions, the pot was sometimes difficult to place back on the warming plate because of the sneak a cup feature. The other problem was removing and inserting the plastic basket. We considered these minor annoyances. Within a week the sneak a cup device came apart. A tiny rubber washer was missing. We called Black and Decker but were told that the unit was so new that they didn't have parts in stock, but we could return the whole unit for replacement. We decided to live without the feature. One morning I was in the process of making coffee, but the unit failed to operate. Nothing worked. I called for a replacement but was told I'd have to pay shipping charges. At first we decided it wasn't worth it. Later I send an e-mail to Black and Decker and they finally agreed to pay postage. I'm in the process of having the coffee maker replaced. If I had it to do over again I would have paid a few extra dollars for a more recognizable brand.
