PROS: Back when this game came out it was the best baseball game I?ve ever played. The graphics are good and the overall gameplay is also very good. A great plus in the game are free agents and minor leaguers. It is very easy to keep rosters up to date and creating a player and editing players is extremely simple. The game is the most realistic game I?ve ever played. Everything is in it, 40 man rosters, disabled lists, real looking parks and more. The modem play is also great and unlike other games you don?t need a extremely fast computer to use it. Also with 10 skill levels the game can always be challenging.
CONS: Well no logos of course but that?s okay because they aren?t licensed with major league baseball, but by now everyone has the logos anyway. Some problems are the following: Fielding is very difficult, striking out people is almost impossible, the rosters get messed up after an injury or a trade (only on CPU controlled teams), games can get a little bit out of hand with high scores and too many hits. All around I give this game a rating of 9.0.
This game was even better then it's successor HardBall 6.
