Gotta Love Blue

Pros Fun,Colorful,Great Songs,Educational
Cons None that I can find
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  A Must have for the Blues Clues Fan. It is a wonderful movie all the way around.

My daughter has always been a Blues Clues Fan since the first time she saw this adorable pooch. I often taped the episodes to go in our home video collection.

From the first time we saw the commercial we knew it was a must have for our youngest and so did she, every time it came on she would get so excited. So we hinted to Grandpa and she had her Blues Clues Movie for her Birthday.

I always love the episodes on TV as Katie always learns something from them. The movie is even better. Along with the learning activities, and the famous searching for Paw Prints (Clues) there is also many adorable and very catchy songs and new characters.
For someone who has never seen Blues Clues, in the show you have Steve he is the only Human character, the rest of the characters and background are cartoons. Made up of Blue "The Famous Pup" and household items that come to life to make a cast of lovable characters any child would love. Such as Mrs. Salt and Mr. Pepper and their little Baby Paprika, The Felt Friends, A clock named Tickety ,Slippery (a bar of soap), and Side table drawer (these are just a few).

Brand New character in the movie is Periwinkle. He is a purple kitten. Periwinkle goes through the whole movie thinking everyone's having a magic show. He follows Steve around trying to show him his magic tricks but is always interrupted by something. At the end he does finally get to do his magic tricks as the opening to the Music Show while everyone else finishes getting ready.

Steve throughout the movie is trying to find a clue, see in the TV show children (you can hear them directing Steve but cannot see them, supposed to be friends at home watching) well the children always find the clues and tell Steve where they are. In the movie he finally finds his first clue (the third of the movie).

Steve also has to come up with a song to sing. During this your child gets to hear about Notes, Rhythm and Tempo while Steve creates his song. A new character "G-Clef" helps Steve out (G=Clefs voice is done by Ray Charles).

In the movie Side table has to learn in order for people to know what you are thinking you have to speak up. She wants to sing in the Music Show but is shy and tries to tell Steve a few times. He winds up giving her other jobs but she never tells him what she wants to do until the end. It works out great though because the clues that they were looking for were to see who Blue wants to be her singing partner. When Side table tells Steve she wants to sing in the show , she becomes Blues singing partner and it all works out.

Slippery has to learn to keep trying he has some trouble keeping his little boat upright while he is singing his song. Other characters also learn this too and they have a cute song that they all sing when a situation arises, Dont give up Just Go On everyone sings it to the character having a hard time. This shows our children that if you keep trying you can succeed.

Many cute songs, as the video box states 6 Brand New ones.

78 minutes long.

You can find Blue on the web too at (nickjr.com).

I definitely think this is more than just a good rental from blockbuster, anyone with children under 5 should have this in the home video library.
