This waffle maker is great in that it cooks in a few minutes and has a light indicator to let you know when the waffle is ready instead of you having to constantly open it to check. Don't waste your money on this piece of trash
I would be against any one buying this product. I received this item as a belated Christmas present in January of 2005. By January 24 I had already exchanged it for a replacement model. Bear in mind that I am not making Belgian waffles for scores of people nor am I using this item every day.

Good Waffles.....Cheap Construction
I used my waffle iron all the time, as did my kids. It makes great, plate-sized, tasty waffles. I used the indicator light to tell me when I should take it out. Poorly designed: Hinges broke & hard to clean
We had to throw our Black & Decker Waffle Maker away within one year. Like other reviewers have stated, the two round plastic hinges break easily. Fragile hinges
This waffle iron produces nice waffles. However, the hinges are a hard plastic that break easily. Trying to find the replacement part(as low as .02) has proven to be difficult and the shipping charges are unfair. Don't buy it
Poor heating characteristics.
Impossible to clean without disassembling (front handle must be unscrewed and taken off in order to satisfactorily clean the unit.)

Hinges broke on two machines
Makes great waffles, but the plastic hinges broke after about 3 months. We sent the unit in and received a brand new unit that the same hinges broke the first time we used it. Shamefully shoddy. Walmart (where we originally bought it) gave us a store credit. Read full review »
