Not really worth it; more looks than results
Pros
Mixes in some add-ins (emphasis on SOME)
Cons
Wastes too much ice cream; a pain to clean

No
The Bottom Line:
Looks like more fun than it was; prep. work too time-consuming, too hard to clean, wastes ice cream and not enough results to make it worth it.
We gave this to our kids (ages 9 and 11) for Christmas. Several components to assemble (actual twist part, handle that pushes the ice cream down, lever) and then disassemble didn't help clean up go smoothly. You need to soften the ice cream before using (we use the microwave) and freeze the twist part in the freezer and then it's a trick to get it soft-enough but not too drippy. You also have to pump the handle up and down to be sure the ice cream feeds into the spout. Not all mix-ins worked well and we found that adding them frequently between scoops of ice cream worked best. It wastes a LOT of ice cream (it gets stuck at the bottom of the feeder spout and the twist blade won't pick it up). Anything sticky sticks to the sides of the pouring spout too, making it VERY difficult to clean. Had to hunt down my old baby bottle and nipple brushes because the pouring spout is in one piece. Easy to clean at the broad end but anything stuck to the sides of the narrow end wants to stay that way. In the end, too much trouble, especially if not everyone wanted the same flavor. We sold it at a yard sale.
