The Bottom Line:
I can now say I'm thrilled that I didn't waste money on one of the more "fashionable" ones - the B&D is great!
After searching in store after store to find a food processor that fit all of my needs and wouldn't break the bank, I came across the FP1500. I thought I'd give it a try, and if I didn't like it I would return it.
Unfortunately, when I got home and tried to test it, it didn't work. Nothing happened when I pressed the buttons. I was very disappointed. When I called customer service, the rep was very helpful, and when the thing still wouldn't work, she instructed me to cut off the cord, mail it to them, and they would send a new unit. They must have shipped the new one before they received the cord because I received the new unit only a few days later. The second one works perfectly and I actually made out pretty well in this deal because I now have two of each part! :)
I was a little nervous about getting a processor with such a huge capacity because sometimes I have small jobs, but it handles large and small jobs wonderfully. I can't say enough about it. It's powerful enough to make bread dough, but still handles tiny chopping jobs.
Clean up couldn't be easier. All of the parts are dishwasher safe. I'm lucky enough to have plenty of counter space to leave it out all the time, but I can imagine it would be a pain to store it in between uses because it is rather large.
