Black & Decker Quick N Easy FP1300 Food Processor

We used this food processor for about a year. It worked fine for salads, even mixing dry ingredients. It grates cheddar cheese fairly good, but don't try to grate Parmesan Cheese; I did and it busted the plastic gear that turns the blade. It wasn't too difficult to get the bottom off, or the busted plastic gear off, but I could not locate a replacement part. The Black & Decker website's help informed me that in June of 1998 Black & Decker sold it's Household Products business to Applica Incorporated. I called Applica and they said they don't have any internal parts. I am going to try bandaiding it with J.B. Weld and some splints, but will probably have to wind up trashing it because of a the busted plastic gear.
