Black & Decker TRO700W Toaster Oven with Convection Cooking

What a mistake this purchase was....DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT MAKING A PURCHASE OF THIS PRODUCT. I purchased the first one in October '06 and it broke down within 4 weeks. Took it back to where I purchased it and they gave me a replacement and also informed me that it was their best selling toaster oven. Took the second toaster oven home only to have it break down 2 1/2 months later (however we were out of town for 2 of those months and it was not even being used). Called Black and Decker only to find out that it is no longer a B&D product but that the company was bought out by APPLICA in 1998!!!! They told me to mail the toaster oven back to them (they are 3,000 miles away). I asked are you crazy? It will cost more to mail back then its worth? They them told me to cut off the cord and mail the plug and at least 2" of the cord to them and they in turn, upon receiving the plug, would send me a new oven to me within 7 - 10 days. I did what they asked, although I mentioned that I would rather have a refund!!! They would not agree to the refund and informed me that it was a good oven!? Four weeks later and many telephone and e-mail letters to them, I still do not have the toaster oven that they were going to send within 7-10 days!!! I read them the riot act over the telephone today and they said they would be happy to refund my money. Consider the cheque in the mail! Hopefully it will come. There customer service appear to only answer your e-mail letters with form letter answers so your questions never really all get answered. They also will not give you the name of a person that you talk with or who sends you the response to your e-mails other than to always say and sign everything 'customer service'. I finally got to a supervisor by calling in and being persistent he said he would refund my money but would only give me his first name..Jeff.
