Cool Coffee Maker

Cons Pot spills water during pouring (if it's filled to the brim).
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:

This is a good coffee maker for the low price. Just have a towel handy when pouring a full pot.

I am a coffee freak. A cup (or pot) of coffee in the morning is a must have. I love to sip on my mug of coffee, while watching the morning news. When the news is over, my coffee is usually gone, and I'm full of energy to start my day. I wanted a coffee maker that would start my coffee for me and have it ready when I woke up. The Black and Decker coffee maker has suited me just fine.

DESIGN
This Black and Decker coffee maker comes in black or white. The lid on top lifts up (staying attached to the back) revealing the water reservoir in the back and the coffee resevoir in the front. The coffee grounds holder lifts out so I can fill it without spilling grounds all over. The 12 cup pot sits snuggly between the burner and coffee grounds holder. The clock in the middle makes viewing time easy. There is an auto light that indicates automatic brewing will happen. There is a bright red light which indicated power is on or off. The hour and minute buttons make it easy to set time and program desired brewing time.

BREWING TIME
If I have forgotten to set my timer on my coffee maker, all I have to do is hit the on/off button once and the coffee starts brewing. My Black and Decker coffee maker takes approximately 7 minutes to brew 12 cups. That is great timming for me.

SIZE & QUALITY
My Black and Decker coffee maker is about 18 inches tall, 8 inches wide, and 12 inches from front to back. I think this is a great coffee maker for the low price. I have had it for a year and a half, and have had NO mechanical problems yet. I also noticed there are no coffee grounds in the bottom of my cup when I finish.

PRICE
I bought my Black and Decker coffee maker at a local retail store for $19.95 on sale.

POURING
This is where I have run into problems. When I fill the pot (12 cups)to pour into the machine, I loose about a cup down the side of pot during pouring. Most of the water goes into the resevoir, but some water drizzles off the bottom of the pot. It doesn't matter how fast or slow it is poured either. I have to have a towel handy when filling the water resevoir, every time. The first 2 cups of coffee are the same way. When the volume goes down, there is less dribbage.

Despite the water on the counter after pouring water into the resevoir and the first few cups of coffee, I still love my Black and Decker coffee maker. The best feature is the automatic shut-off timer. This coffee maker turns off 2 hours after starting.
