Pros: The FP2500 food processor is very light weight so it is easy to get in and out of the cabinet. The processor has a wide mouth that can be adjusted to different sizes using the supplied food pushers. The motor itself seems quite strong. The food-contact parts are dishwaher safe and the motor housing buttons are covered button which makes it easy to clean.
Cons: The plastic lid and bowl safety latch are stressed during use. We had ours for less than six months when the latch on the lid broke. The replacement lid was half the cost of a new unit.
Comments: We are not gourmet cooks who use this appliance every day. We probably had used our appliance 8-10 times when it broke. We have had and liked previous Black and Decker appliances and power tools. They are usually perfect for the hobbist as they are reasonably priced and generally well made. My impression is that the motor on this one will go and go, but it is useless withouth the plastic parts that didn't stand up to even light usage. Black and Decker should either use better quality plastics or make the replacement parts cheaper and easier to order.
