WOW!! This thing really works!

Pros Does a great job even with overgrowth. Great price. No gas. Easy use.
Cons need extension cord. Loud.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Buy it. No doubt. This does the job and I'm now the envy of my neighbors who pay lawn services top dollar to do this.
Saying that this thing works is an understatement. I have, or should say had, an extreme overgrowth problem on my sidewalk, patio, and driveway. I'm not talking an inch or so, I'm talking a foot or so.
So I got this Black and Decker 2.25HP "Edgehog" for $89 at Home Depot. I got home, plugged in the extension cord (not supplied), and pulled the trigger. The 1st thing I did was grunt like Tim Taylor on Tooltime - "Aarh, aargg, arrgg, arrgg - POWER". My hairs on my arms stood on ends when I felt the power of this machine rip through the the jungle on my pavement. This thing is loud and powerful, it's sound reminds me of my Craftsman powersaw.
All of my neighbors and visitors now compliment me on how well my lawn looks.

Here's some tips that I figured out -
1) Make sure that the extension cord is ALWAYS behind you. I've heard too many stories of these getting run over.
2) If you had extreme overgrowth like me, the toughest thing is to find where your pavement starts, try your best to find it. If the overgrowth doesn't easily extract, just do it again going deeper on the blade.
3) Make sure that it is completely stopped before moving to another position. I have a couple permanent scars in my cement already.
4) Disconnect the extension cord every time you want to move elsewhere or clean it. I've already went to pick it up and pulled the trigger accidentally.
5) Make sure that your extension cord is rated good enough to use for this.
6) Have fun.

Some great pros -
1) Price - This only cost me $89. The gas ones I looked at were around $300
2) Does what it needs to do.
3) No worries about refilling gas.
4) No pulling cords or worrying about a stroke engine that's tough to start.
5) Easy to use (my mom could even do it)

Believe it or not, I'd rather have this $89 electric edger than the $400 gas edger.
