My yard looks better than ever after using this edger!

Easy to use. Yard looks twice as good! No gas engine to worry about.

Noisier than expected. Takes a few seconds to stop. Extension cord comes disconnected sometimes.

I debated between the Black & Decker and the Craftsman edgers. I bought this one because Black & Decker had a promotion with Lowes Home Improvement store that allowed me to receive a $20 Lowes gift card in the mail with the purchase of my Black & Decker edger. I have been very satisfied.
It's almost ready to use right out of the box. The handle is in two parts and just have to be attached together. I noticed a small wiggle in the handle where the upper & lower parts came together, so I was a little worried there would be some sturdiness concerns. Thankfully, these were unfounded. During use, you'd never know that the handle was essentially two separate parts.
It's tough enough for hard dirt, but it's not a quiet machine. It doesn't hurt my ears or anything, though. One problem I have is the extension cord keeps coming unplugged, but this mainly happens when I stretch my extension cord trying to reach the edge of the yard. Annoying, but not a fault of the machine. Also, don't sit the blade down until the edger comes to a complete stop. I've got a slight nick or two on my driveway because of this. I was surprised at how easy it is to edge in a straight line. The guide really does keep the blade away from the concrete, so I only occasionally throw a few sparks from hitting something. Watch that trigger button! I've accidentally turned the edger on when I didn't mean to! On the other hand, because of the easy-to-use trigger, I don't have fatigue in my hands from using the edger.
The first time I edged, I didn't notice a huge difference, but it did look better. However, after multiple uses, there is a huge difference. My yard looks much more "clean cut". No more sprigs of grass growing onto the curb. I can definately recommend this edger.
