It's OK

Pros Inexpensive, easy to use and set up
Cons short handle, no dynamic brake, poor edge guide
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  If you want an inexpensive electric edger, this is acceptable
I have owned this electric edger for 2 years. It is the replacement for an older, similar Weedeater model that I had for many years that is no longer made. So, I have had a great deal of experience with this sort of machine.

This Black and Decker model is OK and not great. It will get the job done, is inexpensive and is easy to use. But, you get what you pay for here and there are a few items that are a bit lacking.

The handle is short. There are 2 settings for its length but it still requires me to hunch over when using it. If you are over 5'11" this might be a consideration.

The edge guide does not work all that well. Often, I find the blade striking the edge of the pavment or digging into my asphalt driveway. I have to proceed slowly and deliberately to avoid too much of this problem.

The motor does not have a dynamic brake. This means that after you release the power switch, the blade continues to spin for a time as the motor slowly comes to a halt. My older model came to a stop quickly allowing me to manuvere or pick the machine up. I have to wait for this Black and Decker to slowly come to a halt which is annoying.

On the positive side, it trenches well and the motor seems to have plenty of power. The blade guard had a handy latch that lets you clean it out quickly. There are 3 settings for depth that allow you to lower the blade gradually as the blade wears out.
