It does make coffee

Pros It does make coffee.
Cons No heat or volumn control.
Recommended it? No

I am TOTALLY disappointed in B&D!!!
This machine does make coffee. However, since it does not have a warming plate the coffee didn't stay hot enough for me.  Further, because the pot is stainless, you never know how much coffee is left in the pot.  I also had trouble with the screw on lid. Read full review »

Pros It wasn't an expensive product.  I honestly can't think of any other pros to...
Cons Too many cons to list again, see my review.

My mom bought this coffee pot for me after my last one broke.  I'm pretty sure that she never read any reviews on this product before buying it....it was on sale for $26 at Wal-Mart.

At firsrt, I REALLY liked it.  I've never used a thermal coffee carafe before and I liked the idea of an... Read full review »

Pros Attractive design.
Cons Stainless-steel thermal carafe does not keep coffee hot.
Recommended it? No

We had to recently replace our aging coffee maker because it refused to heat anymore. We were shopping at our local Target and we came across this Black & Decker coffee pot and it looked like a good deal. It was on sale for only $30.00.

The entire unit is attractive and it appears to be well... Read full review »

it's useful, but that doesn't excuse bad design

Pros The thermal pot keeps my coffee hot and auto-brew works well
Cons Flat out poor design in a number of areas
Recommended it? No

I bought this machine to replace a coffee maker I very much liked, but thought the thermal carafe was a great idea. I got it cheap and that sure helps, doesn't it? I'd been pricing these for about 2 years so when it got down to $40, I went for it.

If you're like me you don't get around to... Read full review »

Looks good but coffee is mediocre at best.

Pros The unit shuts itself off after brewing the coffee which saves electricity.
Cons The coffee is never hot and it is annoying to constantly reheat your coffee.
Recommended it? No

I picked this up after thanksgiving at a great price but I am returning it because the coffee is never hot and the design leaves something to be desired. Also, on a few occasions, there were some grinds in the coffee. I am not sure if the cause was due the filter not being centered or a design... Read full review »

Coffee is supposed to be hot...

Pros Beats me...
Cons no warming burner, confusing, messy
Recommended it? No

This is the silliest coffeemaker I've ever owned. Almost immediately after it's finished brewing a pot, the coffee is tepid and needs to be warmed up in the microwave. Difficult to fill reservoir with the basket in place (splashes). Also, not once have I poured a cup from this pot without 2-4 drips... Read full review »

Not the worst, but I wouldn't have purchased this for myself!

Pros Looks nice, turns off automatically, nice bright display, decent-tasting coffee
Cons Coffee not hot enough, reservoir hard to fill, brew-strength seems to vary
Recommended it? No

I received this as a gift, and have been using it for about 2 weeks. While there are some nice features (see list of pros), there are several annoying things about it: the coffee is never hot enough for me (I usually end up nuking my cup for 10-20 sec.); the reservoir is hard to fill using the... Much Improved Thermal Coffee Pot

bybddailymom Jan 26, 2007

Pros Great cup of coffee, no burner, and significant design improvements from previous model.
Cons Small volume per pot compared to other brands and reusable filter not included.
Recommended it? Yes

Background:

I've just replaced one Black and Decker Thermal Coffee Maker (reviewed by me on Epinions and not recommended) with a newer model. At first, I tried a different brand of a traditional coffee pot with a burner. I have decided I like thermal coffee makers better because coffee... Read full review »
