I was given one of these as a bridal shower gift. It was one of those items I didn't think I would use. My cooking skills needed practice. Every week there were more uses I found for the handychopper. The compact size was the biggest advantage since my kitchen was small.
Secondly, the ease of use was a huge factor for me. I don't like complicated appliances with lots of pieces requiring me to study a booklet to figure out how to use it. The handychopper only has a few pieces that are easy to assemble.
It is perfect to chop nuts for a topping on a dessert or for brownies or cookies. You can chop garlic and onions for your homemade pasta sauce. You can make fruit purees to put into marinades for beef roast or turkey breast.
You can chop tomatoes, onions, jalapeno peppers, a dash of vinegar and some cilantro and you have homemade salsa. I like to use the plum tomatoes or cherry tomatoes that come canned for convenience.You can mix up the ingredients for a quiche in the handychopper. Add the eggs, spinach, salt and pepper and blend. Then add a little milk and blend some more. Pour into a pie dish. Add some bacon or ham then top with mozzarella cheese. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees and you have a perfect dinner.
