Brand name recognition, attractive styling, space saving design and simple controls makes this product desirable for most households. And that's exactly what I thought, three units ago.
In the course of two years we've had to seek warranty repair/replacement), for three of these coffee makers (ODC150). The problem appears stem from the the thermal protection devices that keep the unit from overheating and potentially causing a house fire.
When this safety (fuse) device opens, the water heating element and warmer pad stop working. In my experience if you leave the appliance on for more than the immediate time it takes to make a pot of coffee, you run the risk of blowing this fuse and ending the coffee makers life.
Past experiences include a trip to the authorized warranty center where the units were tossed in the trash, and a two week wait for a replacement from the factory.
