Once you learn it's ways it is a wonderful coffee maker!
My mother, fjbpab, gave me this coffee maker three years ago for Christmas. I have very little counter space in my kitchen and this coffee maker sure did help with the lack of space.
My husband is NOT a handyman. He cannot tell the difference between a hammer and a screwdriver. When I told him that this coffee maker needed to be installed under the cabinet the poor man turned white in fear.
He didn't need to fear a thing. Putting this under the cabinet was a breeze. It went in easily.
I think this is the best coffee maker I have ever owned. The water container is easy to fill and the basket is easy to pull out.
It is easy to fill and in the morning I can just flip it to on when I am ready and my coffee is ready in a jiffy. However, if there is a power serge through the night and the clock is not set then I need to reset the clock before the coffee maker will make coffee.
I notice that the amount in the water container does not match the amount on the carafe. If I put 12 cups of water in the water container I only get 10 cups of coffee in the carafe.
I also notice that with this coffee maker I can only use the large coffee filters. If I use the small ones and plan to make a small pot the coffee grounds spill over the top and the coffee ends up being a yucky thick substance filled with coffee grounds. While this smells lovely, the flavor is not desireable. So I still to the 12 cup filters!
I like that I can get a cup of coffee while the coffee is brewing without fear of a spill. I am one of those people that wake up dreaming of coffee so for me making coffee with this coffee maker is a breeze.
I clean this coffee maker easily with white vinegar about once a month. I run white vinegar through the cycle and it cleans nicely. The caraf can easily go into the dishwasher (sshh it says it is not dishwasher safe, but trust me it works great on the top shelf).
I love coffee and I drink a lot of it. Now that my mother lives with me, between the two of us we have a pot of coffee on ALL DAY!
This coffee maker is one of my favorite and greatest appliances and the most used in my kitchen. I highly recommend it.
