ain't what it used to be....
Pros
it makes coffee
Cons
unpredictable, unstable hardware fixtures
Recommended it?
No
We recently purchased this to replace an earlier model (seven years old), that had died. By 'died' I mean that it was no longer heating the water as well as it should. The old one made great coffee!!!
This one is another story. When I fill the water resevoir to full, the amount of actual coffee I get is unpredictable. And, unfortunately, every once in awhile the whole show over flows, causing a considerable mess. It also makes it difficult to estimate how much coffee to use. I don't know why this happens, it seems like some water gets 'caught' in the mechanism and never actually comes through. Then, all of a sudden it reaches it's critical mass and over flows.
Another drawback that wasn't a problem with my first machine, the under-the-cupboard attachment doesn't seem to be as stable. We've only been using this a few months and it is "jiggely", the old one lasted years without feeling unstable.
Needless to say, I'm quite disappointed with this purchase and will most likely read the reviews of other brands and make a new purchase, soon.
