Pros Smart looking machine, does the job and clean up is a breeze.
Cons You will have water and coffee grounds on counter if you don't read the directions

The Black and Decker Smartbrew 12-Cup coffeemaker is indeed a smart looking machine. Ours is white and stands a little over 12 inches high. It stands on our kitchen counter and fits nicely under the cabinets.

Pros Simple, easy to work/clean, inexpensive coffee maker and aesthetically appealing!

I purchased the Black and Decker Smartbrew Coffee Maker as a replacement to a former Black and Decker model. This one has everything I ever wanted in a coffee maker!!

Pros Price Good features for the money
Cons Poor quality materials and design The alarm that goes off when the coffee's done!

The SmartBrew makes good coffee in a reasonable amount of time. Functions are easy to use, and you do get a lot of features for the money (less than $30). The problem is bad design and cheap materials. I'll echo a lot of issues others have mentioned:

I love this coffee maker because it's simple to use. When I wake up in the morning the last thing I want to do is remember what buttons to press to make a simple cup of coffee. Pros black, makes a lot of coffee.
Cons to big,loud,leaks if not put in just right, carafe drips after your pour,expensive.

This is the worst coffee pot I have ever bought...It will leak all over your counter and floor if you dont have the carafe in just right. Nothing like hot coffee all over your kitchen at 5.30 am! Pros Water reservoir access,wide easy pour carafe and holds a good 12 cups of coffee.
Cons Very poor design of controls. Cannot turn on = pros go down the drain.
Recommended it? No

Day 5 of owning pause and serve latch falls off as simply to loose to snap in holding tongs. 2 month 6:00 am coffee making overflows, pause and serve stuck, coffee overflows a little on controls.Wipe off with clothe and dry to best of ability. At first this seemed like a pretty good machine, programmable feature easy to use, but like another reviewer I had an overflow problem once a few months ago and today the lights work... but no coffee.
