The Bottom Line:
Great for little spots and spills, but not made for the big ones
I can say this--someone should petition Congress so that when you buy a new puppy or kitten, this should be a required purchase, as much as shots and worming. This will save a lot of headaches for any new proud puppy or kitten mom or pop.
That's the only reason I purchased the Spot Lifter--a new puppy. I didn't want to haul out the big momma, my Bissell upright deep cleaner, everytime that little guy had an accident. And for those accidents, the Spot Lifter does a great job.
However, if you're a pro at making much deeper, harder to clean spots and stains, I think you're due for the real cleaners, known to you and me as the uprights. They'll get deeper and do a better job, mostly because this little guy isn't made for the big jobs anyway.
It's great to be able to pull the Spot Lifter out and zip up a spill in no time. Cleanup is easy, and it's even better if you have it prepared with cleaning solution beforehand. But if not, then that's OK. Filling it is quick and simple. However, it only lasts about 5 minutes before it's time for a recharge, so make sure you're quick and efficient with your cleanup.
Epinions lists this at $45, but I purchased mine on an auction site for $19, and I received a discount catalog with it again listed at $19. So, look around for a cheaper one; you should find it without problem. And when you have one, you're sure to be able to get up all those little mishaps that are inevitable.
