The Bottom Line:
Doesn't stay charged for more than 3 minutes, not worth the price.
I have three small children who can create big spills. I needed something that would work on fresh stains as well as stains that I missed. I was told that this was the product for me. This was according the sales man at Sears. He said that this little guy would do the trick. I also asked him if it would work on my furniture. I wanted to clean my furniture.
He continued to tell me that the Bissell Spot Lifter was what I was looking for.
I brought it home to find I had to charge it for 24 hours first before I could even use it. Ok, that was a down fall, but I would charge it and then use it the next day.
After charging it for over 24 hours, I started to use it on a small stain from a few nights earlier. Within a few minutes (and the stain not all the way gone yet) the charged battery ran dead. I still had water on my floor and a machine that couldn't pick the water back up. I ended up having to get the water out of my carpet with an old towel.
I decided that maybe because it was new and all it just needed to charge longer than the 24 hour recommended time. I charged it again for another 24 hours. I decided I was going to try it again on another spot. Right after turning it on, water started spitting out at me and the charge ran down after 3 minutes again.
I don't feel that this is a very good product at all, at least not for me. If your stain is less than the size of a dollar bill then maybe it will work for you. I can say I think this is a worthless product and a waste of my time. If you have to charge it for at least 12 hours after each and every tiny spill, that doesn't seem worth it.
