This was the best un-planned spur of the moment purchases I have ever made!
When my 2nd son was 10 mos old he was banging on a can of paint my husband had left in the dining room. No problem, he would not be stupid enough not to have the lid securely in place with a toddler and a baby in the house. Right? WRONG!
When the drumming stopped and the "splashing" began I turned in horror to find my youngest sitting in a puddle of white paint 3 feet in diameter. He was covered and happy as a pig in..... he was happy as a kid in paint! :)
I rescued the child (could not rescue his clothes however) and assumed I would be in the market for new carpet. It was about 4:15 pm on a Sunday. I flew out the door and headed to Costco. I came home with the Bissel Hand Held rechargeable cleaner and very little hope. I was doing damage control, so I thought.
I was shocked to discover one can get white latex out of deep burgundy carpet. It just takes some patience. Over a week I got all of the paint completely out. Between treatments I left a damp sheet on the very large stain and after about 10 treatments it is gone!
This $45 machine saved me having to re-carpet my dining room! Well worth the price! I use it whenever the boys have a liquid spill too, it works great!
One does have to be careful to re-attach the reservoir properly though or it will leak. Also one doesn't have a whole lot of time per charge and you have to leave it plugged in to hold the charge.
