I bought this product mainly because I have had really great experiences with Bissell as a company. I have one of the older deep cleaning machines and like many I get tired of lugging it up and down stairs for small accidents that my older dog is having.
I have been able to get parts for my older machine via the internet and it still runs great--making it well worth the initial investment of about $175!
I liked that Bissell kept some of the design features that my large deep cleaning machine has--the suction "looked" similar and it assembled easily and very much like the older model. I think it is good that Bissell keeps the tried and true things that work.
However, like a lot of the other comments, this hand-held machine needs to have a power cord in addition to its short-lived battery function of 5 minutes. The literature states that if the machine is not used frequently the battery charging ability may be affected--a power cord would be a good alternative to buying a new machine. Also, the cleaning liquid seemed to be used up very quickly.
I talked my husband into cleaning a spot I found and he was willing to try out the machine since he also uses the larger one (what a sweetie). He too felt very strongly that this product needed improvements. After the machine recharged (for 12 hours) he tried the spot again and we both agreed that the spot was still too wet the next day (so the suction was definitely lacking).
I hope that Bissell listens to its customers and tries to improve the product.
Sorry Bissell, this one is not up to your usual standards. I will still give the new and improved product a try when it (hopefully) comes out!
