The Bottom Line:
I recommend this product to anyone who has pets or small children who make a lot of small messes. It is very powerful and makes my life a lot easier.
I have two cats with diabetes. Due to their illness, they have an excessive need to drink water and therefore use the litterbox. Unfortunately for me, one of them has a real problem actually making it into the box on time. What a mess!
Fortunately for me, I saw the Bissell Spot Lifter Cordless Hand-Held Deep Cleaner one day as I was strolling through the hardware store. I bought it on the spot and drove home anxious to use this product immediately. Oops, you have to charge the machine a full 24 hours before the first use. OK, so I did that.
The next day I followed the simple instructions and filled the tank with solution (a small bottle is provided with the product) up to the line indicated right on the outside of the tank. I filled the remaining area with warm water as instructed and away we went. I sprayed the spot using the spray button on the deep cleaner and let the solution soak in for about 3-5 minutes per the instructions. Then I turned it on again and boy did it suck up the stain! I was amazed at how much of the mess it picked up. Of course this only lasted 5 to 10 minutes before the battery wore out but considering the size of the stains, I was very pleased with the performance of this machine.
The Bissell deep cleaner comes with hardware and simple instructions to attach it to a wall so you can keep it continuously charged. I now use it regularly to prevent the mess I started with and it has basically saved my carpeting. I've also used it on other stains like ketchup and it still worked great.
One suggestion for really tough organic stains is to mix some Oxi-Clean solution and pour it directly on the carpet, then use the power of the Bissell Deep Cleaner to soak up the moisture. This allows you to clean a much larger area if necessary in the small amount of time the battery stays charged. This also works especially well with pet stains.
