Pros Nice try, new concept,
Cons Not hot enough, only can work well on new carpet, clogs up. plastic parts.
Recommended it? No

Ever wish that these companies that make these products would think about the consumer first before they think about making money. They only have one thing in mind and that is taking your money. Well, while this product is very nice and looks like it will do the job properly you have to look at how... Read full review »

Pros It Really works! Spots included!
Cons A little heavy and bulky to get up the stairs.
Recommended it? Yes

I purchased the Bissell Proheat from our local Costco for $199, which is about average for price but it does come packed with extra goodies, Costco Style. Three bottles of Scotchguard, a sample bottle of cleaner and all the attachments. Even an extra belt. It's a great package if you have... Read full review »

Great carpet cleaner with some quirks

Pros Cleans medium height carpet and rugs very well and quickly.
Cons Is heavy and brush is prone to break down unless carpet is prepped beforehand.
Recommended it? Yes

I bought the Bissell ProHeat™ Protech? 7920 at Costco, hoping it would work sufficiently well to avoid renting a cleaner or calling a pro.

We have three pets, a Scottie and two shorthaired cats, and raising the Scottie from a pup produced the usual mistakes on his part. While we cleaned... Read full review »

Very Unpleasant Experience

Pros When it works, it works good. Quick and cleans nicely.
Cons Once it clogs, it never works right again because it's almost impossible to clean.
Recommended it? No

Both my parents and myself have one of these units, I was given one for Christmas. I have a dog which sheds quite a bit, and no matter how much vacuuming I do, some hair is always in the carpet. Unfortunately, when this cleaner gets clogged, it never gets unclogged. I tried to clean it myself, but... Read full review »

Pros Cleans carpets very well; water heater; separate detergent dispenser
Cons Repair prone; needs lots of preventive maintenance; short time between fills; design of...
Recommended it? Yes

In the realm of describing certain members of the human species, I am sure you have heard of the term “high maintenance”.  In the world of carpet steam vacs, I would give that honor to this Bissell machine.  This is actually my second one.  You may ask “Why?”; particularly those of you who have... Pros Few and far between! Cleans well between repairs.
Cons Many and numerous! Something goes wrong every time you turn it on.
Recommended it? No

I bought this thing thinking it was a good brand. Boy was I wrong!

When you think of this brand name think of junk! If you are mechanically inclined and love to take things apart and fix them, this is the machine for you!!!

This machine will start to break the first time you use... Read full review »

Pros Cleans carpets well, heated water.
Cons Weight, small tank capacity, leaves behind lint.

My wife and I were looking for a good carpet cleaner after spending about $100 on a professional cleaning. We had tried a hoover that my mother had, which I found to be small hassle due to the water container. It was somewhat cumbersome to replace when you needed fresh water.

My friend... Read full review »

We purchased our Bissell ProHeat carpet cleaner for a great deal at BigLots. We had poor experiences with this same exact cleaner which a friend let us borrow, however the low price bait and switched us into buying one.

We purchased the Bissell for its low price and features compared to... Read full review »

Pros The machine cleaned well when it worked!
Cons Designed poorly! Reviews on this machine and the company haven't been favorable!...
Recommended it? No

I bought this machine shortly after I had my carpet professionally cleaned. It was probably about 3 months before I opened the box and assembled it (that was difficult for me a little). The attachments fit onto the back which is a nuisance for someone like myself who doesn't use them. Once... Read full review »

Pros Reliable, good heating power, nice powerful brushes, many attachments included,...
Cons Too large for stairs.

I live in a house with little carpeting. Most of our flooring is covered by hardwood, ceramic, or laminate products. Only the stairways and landings and a small portion of our basement is covered with carpet. BUT, with 2 kids, 3 cats, a messy husband and 2 aquariums (okay, so the fish don't make...
